Over the span of the last week, the oligarchic media manipulations machine has been busy warming up old as Adam “news” about the sworn enemy of the behind-the-scenes clique in this country – the lawmaker and publisher of Telegraph Media, Delyan Peevski (See here, See here and See here). Their worn out talking point is the notorious lie about the stake of the MP in the tobacco holding Bulgartabac.
This tall story has never been based on real facts and evidence but this for sure does not bother the media manipulators who repeatedly dust off this old lie. And then, as good as new, they slap it on every news related to the tobacco holding released in Bulgaria. So, within just one week, the news that Bulgartabac is to change its name has been inalterably linked with some yet next fantastic story about Peevski. “Dumb but persistent,” you may think. No, those who spread such news are rather the well-paid trolls, who will become redundant if they do not nurse the fake news fire.
This is the reason why they are thinking up all kinds of suitable excuses for lugging the name of Peevski in their fakes. Thus, at the end of the week, they chose to somehow “modernise” their boring panoply of lies aimed against the MP and imputed to him the connection with the next in a row nominee for a top post in Bulgaria (See here). This time it is the candidate for the post of the Financial Supervision Commission and former chair of the National Revenue Agency Boyko Atanasov who was proposed for this post by Ataka party.
This time, just like always, there were no facts to evidence the claims but the flagship of the Fake News Factory, Capital newspaper, has found an innovative way to attach the name of Peevski to their material. They simply slapped it on the legend to a photo. The most important goal is not to stop the circulation of fakes, is it not? And the cash flow…
PM Borisov met with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived on a two-day visit to Bulgaria Thursday evening at the invitation of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the Government Information Service said.
Over a working dinner, Borissov and Stoltenberg discussed the security and defence sector and stability in the Western Balkans and the region.
On Friday, the PM and the Secretary General will have a one-on-one session, followed by an extended meeting between the two delegations, which include Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, NATO Assistant General Secretary for Planning and Defence Policy Patrick Turner and Lorenz Meyer-Minemann, First Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the Secretary General.
